If I Die Young - The Band Perry

That song is beautiful and I quite enjoy listening to it. Let us see what has happened since my last post... I had a beautiful weekend at Arizona Thespian Festival in which I had to moan several times when I lost the Burping Color Game thing (when someone burps you have to say a color and the last person to say a color has to moan) and my moaning became quite good. Two out of four times I ate food I had pizza, the other times I had a lunch that wasn't worth the price and that was totally messed up, and the other one was a gross veggie wrap with delicious chips, a cookie and juice. I don't know why they have to give vegetarians wraps because we can just as easily have cheese sammiches. SIGH. Thespians like to make things so complicated but who would we be without our complications? ;D

I wanna vent about the lunch that wasn't worth the price I payed because it honestly really ticked me off. So for the last two Thespian Festivals, not including this one, I went to this restaurant called Sam's Café and both of those times they were wonderful. The food was delicious, the waitress was nice, and no one was rude to us. This time was completely different. The waitress was a ditz and when my friend Andi and I ordered, we're both vegetarians, we ordered Spinach and Portabella mushroom quesadillas. I told the waitress (I told her because in a way I'm sort of a leader for the group at that time because I was a stage manager)we were in a hurry and she told me that she would bring the check out so that when we were done we could just leave. So the check comes out and I look at it and it doesn't say there are any Spinach quesadillas it says there are two shrimp quesadillas and so I get up and ask her about it and she says it's fine and that it's the same thing and so I sit back down and continue to inspect the bill. For nine people to eat at this restaurant it cost $107.88 and so we rounded up the money and I looked at it and I noticed there was a coffee but it was crossed out. No one even mentioned coffee when they ordered food and drinks and only three people got soda. The cheapest thing on the receipt besides the drinks was still over $8. Anyway, so she leaves with the check and the food comes out and the person handing out dishes calls out for who ordered the shrimp dish and I say no one ordered shrimp and she finishes handing out the dishes and goes to get what Andi and I ordered. The waitress comes back out with a new check and the money so when can redo our payment and when I look at the receipt I was shocked. You would think that when someone takes off a two meat products and a coffee that the bill would be less, but you'd be wrong. The bill was now around $120 and I was mad. I asked her how this was possible and she started to explain something to me that didn't answer my question and so my friend Katie, who was sitting next to me, says 'Let me see it.' and I hand it to her. She looks at it and the waitress starts talking again and Katie tells her to be quiet. The first time the waitress forgot to add the gratuity. So we gather a little more money and pay the lady and when she comes back and asks how the food was Katie told her 'It was decent. Not worth the price, not at all.' and I was shocked but I was happy. This waitress was not only stupid but she just didn't listen and blew me off when I asked her about the shrimp dish! Not only was our waitress rude but on the way in the seating people said to where a few people in our group could still hear 'Don't let them steal the plates.' This place used to be so good and I was completely shocked that in one year it had taken a turn for the worse. I don't know if our service was bad because there were nine of us and we were all teenagers or because our waitress was a ditz, but I am never EVER going back to that place.

ON A HAPPY NOTE! The rest of Festival was amazing. I went to some pretty awesome workshops and saw some awesome main stage events. I saw "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" and "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat" which were both amazing and mind blowing. I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend if you take out the restaurant mishap!

See ya later! Sam.

Life

Life is life is life, my friends. School is time consuming, looking for a job sucks, and getting horrible grades on tests that are for classes in your major is heart crushing. That being said, I still thoroughly enjoy the class. I realize that I need to study more and actually pay attention and care for what I'm doing in my classes. You learn a lot of life lessons in college and it is definitely a place where things come raining down on you. You have to be fast and able to deal with the shit that falls from the sky. It's hard, but if you try you can do it. I need to get my shit together, buckle down, and try as hard as I can to do what needs to be done. As of now, this includes studying for classes, paying attention in said classes, knit like my heart depends on it, search for jobs, apply for scholarships, and work out. It's so strange how it feels like things can pile up when, in reality, you can take a step back and a deep breath and realize that there are many small step...

College Life

Aww yeee. Livin' it up, yo. I'm kidding. Let's be honest here, I do nothing almost all the time. I don't go to parties, I'm not a person who goes out much, and overall I'm not interested in that kind of life. I like my sitting on the computer or playing video games all day. It suits me because I don't want to cause trouble and I don't want to get pushed into something I don't want to do. It's the perfect life. 8] My classes are pretty cool. I go to Northern Arizona University and am planning on getting a degree in Electronic Media and Film (EMF), which is going to be awesome. Right now my classes are pretty blah because it's my first semester at college. Even still, it's been a pretty good first week. I have a math class, an English class, and EMF class, a communications class, and a freshman seminar class. They're all pretty awesome, but the best class at the moment is definitely my seminar class because it's called Reinventi...

Long Time, No Update

Hello my  lovelies, I realize that it's been a few months shy of a year since I last updated and I'm not sure why that is. All I can assume for the last blog posted onto the sight is that school got busy and I forgot that I had a blog. I keep a link to my page up near my tabs so I'm not sure how I forgot that this existed, but it happened and it's over. If I remember, and I hope I do, I will continue to update this blog with posts about my life and what's going on. I have a few other blogs of varying degrees talking about other things such as college in and of itself, movies, and knitting. All of which I have not updated either. I think the website/profile thing I've updated most since February would be Twitter so I'd go ahead and follow me on that if you really want to keep track of me. I don't have much else to say except for the fact that it's nearing Christmas and I am beyond excited about that! Maybe I'll update on Christmas about what I got...
