Darling, We Need To Talk About Music

I really wish that when I'm in my car and I'm listening to the radio that songs that I actually want to hear come on more often or when I'm actually in the car... Now I'm not that picky of a person when it comes to music, I'll listen to anything at least once, but there are a few things that I don't need to hear when I'm trying to listen to something.

One is ten million cuss words like rappers use. I don't care if people cuss but because my mom is a bit psycho and she makes me buy "clean" songs on iTunes and when I listen to a song and every other word is bleeped or empty space, it just isn't worth the money. I don't listen to much rap anyway, in fact I only listen to Eminem and a few of Akon's songs and such, but when I am listening to a song that isn't rap and it bleeps it I get a little pissed off. I hate censoring and such useless nonsense. If you don't wanna hear it, don't listen to it.

The second thing is people that I don't think should be singing... or alive. Like Justin Beiber/Bieber (however the hell you spell it), Miley Cyrus, and any of the new crap that Disney is deciding to produce. Sure, some of the kids have talent but I don't care to listen to the types of songs they're singing because a lot of it doesn't make sense and is just downright awful. SIGH, the stuff that people listen to today shocks me but I guess what I listen to could be considered crap to someone else.

Anywho, a third one is songs that I have heard before but I just don't care to listen to ever again in my life. EVER. It just is too much the first time.

Don't get me wrong, I love music so much because it inspires me to get off my butt and do stuff, but if I don't wanna hear it, I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT! Hey, anyone who produces radio shows or stuff like that: Will you make me my own station that has awesome songs? I would really appreciate it. Thanks! Oh, and don't tell me to make a CD with music I like on it because my car doesn't have a CD player, it has a tape player. If it had a CD player, I wouldn't be ranting this.

Now that I've ranted about music, I would like to tell you some of the artists that I like. My top two favorite bands are The Goo Goo Dolls and Train. I freaking LOVE them. So much so that it pains that I don't have more of their songs. I am now going to take a step in the negative direction for some people and say that I do enjoy listening to Ke$ha because she has some pretty catchy songs. Katy Perry is another favorite of mine along with the Beatles (OH MY GOSH I USED KATY PERRY AND BEATLES IN A SENTENCE TOGETHER) and a lot of the 'old' stuff. Johnny Cash, Aerosmith, Billy Joel, Black Sabbath, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, Bon Jovi, The Cars, Cat Stevens... The list could go on FOREVER and I have so many names I want to name but I don't wish to spend hours writing this.

If you don't want to read the whole thing, just know this: I. Love. Music. Sam.

Life

Life is life is life, my friends. School is time consuming, looking for a job sucks, and getting horrible grades on tests that are for classes in your major is heart crushing. That being said, I still thoroughly enjoy the class. I realize that I need to study more and actually pay attention and care for what I'm doing in my classes. You learn a lot of life lessons in college and it is definitely a place where things come raining down on you. You have to be fast and able to deal with the shit that falls from the sky. It's hard, but if you try you can do it. I need to get my shit together, buckle down, and try as hard as I can to do what needs to be done. As of now, this includes studying for classes, paying attention in said classes, knit like my heart depends on it, search for jobs, apply for scholarships, and work out. It's so strange how it feels like things can pile up when, in reality, you can take a step back and a deep breath and realize that there are many small step...

College Life

Aww yeee. Livin' it up, yo. I'm kidding. Let's be honest here, I do nothing almost all the time. I don't go to parties, I'm not a person who goes out much, and overall I'm not interested in that kind of life. I like my sitting on the computer or playing video games all day. It suits me because I don't want to cause trouble and I don't want to get pushed into something I don't want to do. It's the perfect life. 8] My classes are pretty cool. I go to Northern Arizona University and am planning on getting a degree in Electronic Media and Film (EMF), which is going to be awesome. Right now my classes are pretty blah because it's my first semester at college. Even still, it's been a pretty good first week. I have a math class, an English class, and EMF class, a communications class, and a freshman seminar class. They're all pretty awesome, but the best class at the moment is definitely my seminar class because it's called Reinventi...

Long Time, No Update

Hello my  lovelies, I realize that it's been a few months shy of a year since I last updated and I'm not sure why that is. All I can assume for the last blog posted onto the sight is that school got busy and I forgot that I had a blog. I keep a link to my page up near my tabs so I'm not sure how I forgot that this existed, but it happened and it's over. If I remember, and I hope I do, I will continue to update this blog with posts about my life and what's going on. I have a few other blogs of varying degrees talking about other things such as college in and of itself, movies, and knitting. All of which I have not updated either. I think the website/profile thing I've updated most since February would be Twitter so I'd go ahead and follow me on that if you really want to keep track of me. I don't have much else to say except for the fact that it's nearing Christmas and I am beyond excited about that! Maybe I'll update on Christmas about what I got...
